Smithco Leather was born in 2019 out of a passion for leather work that was sparked during my school years. The Covid-19 pandemic lockdown was the ideal time to experiment, play and learn, in a journey of self-rediscovery, part of which was realising that others liked what I created.

The Smithco brand is about having the confidence to be yourself, to express your creativity outside the confines of the daily nine to five grind. Each product is more than just an accessory, it’s a statement of your unique style and personality.

Why are we different? Our products are handmade here in Cape Town in our home based workshop.  Each item combines functionality, durability, and elegant aesthetics in a fusion of versatile contemporary and traditional designs, making them suitable for any occasion.

We offer a range of products from classic styles and colours to daring colour combinations and new looks. We also create custom items on request. Smithco Leather goods are available online and at various select outlets around South Africa.
